The people of Aboh Community in Mbaise LGA of Imo State requested for compassionate assistance from the Nigerian Army to solve the issue of lack of adequate potable water in the area. The people of the community particularly women and children often walk long distances to the stream to access water for their domestic use. Such an unhealthy source of water often leads to the breakout of waterborne diseases. In view of the above, the Nigerian Army constructed four solar-powered boreholes with water treatment and reservoir tanks as part of the NA special civil-military cooperation project in bridging the gap with the populace.
Additionally, commissioning of the four Solar Powered Boreholes at Obetiti Autonomous Community in ABOH MBAISE LGA of IMO State was held on 11 Jan 19. The COAS was rep by the GOC 82 Div, Maj Gen AS Maikobi.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai was conferred with the title DIKE EJI EJE OGU NKE MBU OBETITI NGURU MBAISE on 11 Jan 19 by His Royal Highness, Eze Reginald Anoti Amadi Obo 1 of Obetiti Nguru Autonomous Community of Aboh Mbaise LGA Imo State.
